This Winchester- based firm provides insurance and financial services in the dental field. Sustainability is taken extremely seriously, and their Green Team are working to reduce their environmental impacts whilst increasing operational effectiveness.
NXP Semiconductors
This semiconductor system solutions company supports the loacl community through engagment with schools. Their new Environmental Management System has produced a wide range of efficiency savings.

Wild Flower Turf
A soil-less turf made from native plants which can be used in green roofs. This encourages biodiversity and could help with the development of green cities.
Eco-Pulse

Developers of an energy saving device which fits onto domestic boilers. This regulates the demand for heat from the thermostats and saves massive amounts of fuel.
Extrudawood
This company has developed a process to convert waste polystyrene into a realistic simulated wood. This product is long-lasting and very low maintenance.
Gumclear
This business has developed a method of chewing gum removal
 which saves thousands of litres of water per day compared with conventional methods.
Sleepbreeze
This Alton-based firm developed a low energy personal cooling system.  A desk fan typically uses around 100 watts and a portable air conditioner uses over 500 watts, whereas a Sleepbreeze uses just 4.
 Utilicom
The well-known Southampton district energy scheme, which saves over 12,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.

Vitacress Salads
Based in St. Mary Bourne, near Andover, Vitacress produce and sell salad vegetables.  As last year’s Large Business Award winner, they are an example of best practice for other food producers.

Cottage Lodge
This 17th century bed and breakfast has put sustainability at the heart of everything it does.  Christina Simons, the owner, is chair of the New Forest Tourism Association Hotels Group and has used this position to encourage other businesses to become more sustainable.
GKN Aerospace
Winner of the Large Business Award in 2005, this Isle of Wight aircraft parts manufacturer continues to operate sustainable business practices including supporting many local charities and projects.
Permanent Publications
This East Meon-based publisher was last year’s Sustainable Business of the Year.  Since winning this Award they have increased turnover by another 10% and Permaculture magazine has tripled its distribution with WH Smith.
The Riverside Centre
This community centre and social enterprise hub offers a wide range of services to people of all abilities.  The Riverside Centre uses its position to promote environmental and social messages to a wide range of people.
