Businesses are often keen to identify sources of grant funding or financial support which can assist them in their higher cost and more ambitious sustainability activities. The external funding situation is constantly changing. Below we suggest some of the key sources which are of greatest relevance to businesses; they include both local and national schemes. There are many further charitable trusts and grant organisations than we are able to list here, particularly those offering very specific or small scale grants. Recommended sources for further funding opportunities include Grantfinder, Funderfinder and GreenGrantsMachine. If you uncover any other potential sources of funding please let us know (sustainable.business.partnership@hants.gov.uk) so that we can add them to these pages.

It is also worth doing some research into the individual power companies who are known to sponsor or award grants to businesses, who wish to undertake sustainable practices, as part of their Corporate and Social Responsibilities and their Carbon Emission Redution Target. Contacts for this are rarely published on websites but it is worth trying to track down who to speak to if you have a really strong bid.
Voluntary and Community groups can apply for a whole host of funding and should contact their local Council for voluntary Service (CVS) or go to : www3.hants.gov.uk/business/externalfunding.htm
