The SBP occasionally has access to third party funding to provide free or discounted resource efficiency auditing services to qualifying businesses. Businesses receive a half-day site visit and full report listing identified efficacy savings and recommended actions. To take full advantage of the audits businesses are required to make available certain key information such as annual energy spends, waste contracts and details of material consumption etc. Typically the service is available to businesses with an energy spend of between £20,000 - £50,000. Businesses with a greater energy spend are advices to contact the Carbon Trust and apply for their full free energy consultancy service. Businesses with a lower energy spend are encouraged to access some of the other forms of support provided by the SBP, including where available resource efficiency training and membership of the Sustainable Business Network.
